A Evening Walk!!

John 6:16-21

16 Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, 17 got into the boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was already dark, and Jesus had not come to them. 18 Then the sea arose because a great wind was blowing. 19 So when they had rowed about [c]three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid. 20 But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”21 Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

Quickword: A Evening Walk

Again my brothers and sisters as we journey with Jesus towards Calvary , we find Him taking a walk in the evening. This walk was unusual because it defies our understanding of the laws of nature as Jesus walks on the water. Jesus disciples when evening came got into a boat and headed towards Capernaum, Jesus was not with them. At this time, it was already dark and the wind began to blow upon the sea. When the disciples were 3-4 miles out, in the dark of evening, when the storm winds began to blow harder, they saw Jesus coming towards them, walking on the water and in their humanity they were afraid.

- There will come a time in all of our lives where we will venture out and believe that Jesus is not with us.

- There are times when we will find ourselves in the dark, in the midst of a storm and afraid in our humanity,

- The good news is that we serve a savior who transcends time, space and physics to get to his followers.

As we continue to journey with Jesus to the cross, we can take comfort in knowing that He is always with us. He is with us in darkness, He is with us throughout the storms of life, He is with morning, noon, evening and even at midnight. He has the power to get to us, even if it requires taking a walk in the evening on the water.
