Micah 7:18-19
18 Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. 19 You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
Quickword: A Forgiving God
The Old Testament prophet Micah asks a rhetorical question? Who is a God like you? Micah then goes on to answer his own question by describing the attributes of a forgiving God.
- A God who pardons our sins and forgives our transgressions.
- A God who does not stay angry but delights in showing mercy.
- A God who is compassionate towards us us.
All of us can find ourselves in the words of Micah. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. What a tremendous blessings we have in a God who is a forgiving God, a God whose mercies are new every morning. Since God has been forgiving and compassionate towards us, let us strive to be forgiving and compassionate towards one another. I’m grateful today that the God who created the heavens and the earth is a forgiving and compassionate God. I’m grateful that he treads our sins underfoot and hurls all of our iniquities into the depths of the sea. What a mighty God we serve. A God who forgives all of our sins and iniquities. Thank God for His Grace and Mercy!
