Proverbs 31:25-31

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;

she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,

and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household

and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;

her husband also, and he praises her:

29 “Many women do noble things,

but you surpass them all.”

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;

but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,

and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Today we pause to honor Mothers; One day set aside is not nearly enough time to say to Mother’s , Grandmother’s , Adoptive Mother’s , God-Mother’s and all of those persons who in some manner take on the roles of providing wisdom, comfort and nurturing. We simply pause to say thank you.

An excerpt from Proverbs 31 list just some of the attributes that can be found in Mothers. Today we just say thank-you to those Mothers who are with us an to those who now rest with the Lord.

- Thank you for your strength and dignity

- Thank you for your wisdom and faithful instructions

- Thank you for the examples of how to manage a household

- Thank you for showing us how to Love and Fear the Lord

Today, we just say thank you! May the joy of the Lord fill every moment of your day! Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!

Let’s pray: Dear God in Heaven, we thank you for the gifts of Mothers. God, we thank you for their wisdom, strength, love and support. The blessings of having a good mother cannot be counted. Father, I ask that you bless every mother who cares carries the joy and responsibility of motherhood. God, I ask that the comfort of your presence be felt by every Mother today. Please grant them the desires of their hearts. This is our prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen
