A prayer for the weary

Matthew 11:28-28

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

This week I'm aware of a great number of persons who are going through. These persons are facing the sudden and in some instances the unexpected death of a loved one. Others are dealing with illnesses that have greatly impacted their lives with the possibility of circumstances getting worse. Still others are facing financial uncertainty due to the loss of employment. This morning in this space, I just want to pray for those who are weary and need rest for the journey.

Dear God in heaven, I come humbly before your throne of grace asking that you would provide rest to those whose burdens have become heavy from everyday life. We ask God that you touch every person who is grieving the loss of a loved one. We pray that you will give them a peace that surpasses all understanding. God we pray for those whose bodies are dealing wilth illness, injury or disease. God, I asked now in the name of Jesus that you touch those who are dealing with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, chronic kidney issues, lupus, chrons disease, COPD, dementia and other physical and mental challenges. God, you know and you have the power to heal. I ask that you move and have your way according to your will and your way. God I pray for persons whose find themselves financially challenged, God I pray that you will make a way, God I pray that you will put upon the hearts of those who are in position to help that they would provide assistance as best as they can. God we all need you for something, so again, I asked that you touch, you heal, you deliver, you comfort and give us rest on this day and in the days to come. God we will be careful to give your name the honor and glory as you are worthy to be praised in the name of Jesus.
