Quickword: A Reason To Shout!
My wife and I spent part of yesterday having brunch with her Aunt and Uncle. It was over brunch that I found a reason to shout. Yesterday was our uncle’s 87th birthday, that’s enough to shout about by itself. Yet they shared a testimony of the goodness of the Lord. Our Aunt shared that she was referred to a cardiologist, she was accompanied by her husband to the appointment. Although the appointment was for our Aunt, her doctors scheduled diagnostic test for both her and our uncle. When the results came back, our Aunt was fine but our Uncle had a 98 percent blockage in his carotid artery on one side and a 90 percent blockage of the carotid artery on the other side. The carotid arteries supplies the head and neck with oxygenated blood. The Dr’s proclaimed to him you are a walking stroke victim, I don’t know how you are still alive. Our Uncle required immediate surgery. The 98% percent blockage was dealt with first and six weeks later the other blockage was addressed, both successful, another reason to shout. On top of that, our Uncle would with stage 3 Colon Cancer, did I say, yesterday was his 87th Birthday!
There is so much more to the story, that I can’t tell it all in this post but that’s enough to make me shout! There is another one whose birthday we celebrate tomorrow, He is the reason for our Uncle is still with us. The birthday we celebrate tomorrow is that of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus came so that we may have life and life more abundantly. He loves us so much that he is working always to give us an abundant life. If you have family and friends who love you and beautiful memories of those whom you love who now rest with the Lord, our lives have been abundantly blessed. The love of God makes me want to shout! In this advent season take a moment to reflect. I pray that as you look back over your life, you can see the goodness of the Lord! To be able to see the blessings of the Lord in our lives, that reason enough to for you snd I shout!
