A Word Of Comfort

Updated: Aug 25, 2023

John 14:1-4 1“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, [b]I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; thatwhere I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Quickword: A Word Of Comfort

One of the most difficult times in life is having to say farewell to a loved one. The pain and uncertainty of life brought on by the transition of a love one is unexplainable. Some of you maybe experiencing this loss even today. Here in this text Jesus begins to prepare His disciples for his ultimate death at Calvary and ascension into Heaven. Jesus provides words of encouragement to His disciples that are words of comfort for you and I.

- Even in the midst of loss, let not your heart be troubled.

- Our belief in God provides a sense of comfort.

- We have a promise of the Savior’s return and heavenly home

The loss of a love one is never easy. Whether the loss is new or some time has passed, a word of comfort is always welcomed. Jesus reminds us that He has prepared a place for us. A place where He will receive us unto himself. There is a prepared place for a prepared people. I pray for every person who sits in the seat of bereavement today. God knows what you are going through and will never forsake you. Take comfort in knowing that weeping will endure for a night, but Joy will come in the morning. Let not your heart be troubled.

Dear God in Heaven, I come humbly before your presence asking that you comfort every person that sits now in the seat of bereavement. Let your Holy Spirit speak a word of comfort during this time. God, touch as only you can touch, speak as only you can speak and comfort as only you can in the name of Jesus.
