Assurance of God’s Presence

Psalms 91:1-2 (Amplified Bible)

1 He who [a]dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”

Quickword: Assurance of God’s Presence

This week we have witnessed the murder, kidnapping and torture of persons in Israel. As I watched the news prior to going to bed a few hours ago, Isreali forces were warning persons who live in the Gaza Strip to relocate because of my understanding an offensive to come from the Israel forces. I’m not expert enough to try and explain what is taking place, yet I find myself at this early morning unable to sleep and lamenting on behalf of those who are caught between Hamas and Israel. I Lament for those who lives were taken senseless and those who are being held captive. I lament for men, women and children who have no means to escape pending military operations. God you are not a respectir of person, so I lament to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob interceeding on behalf of those who have find themselves trapped by actions of Hamas and pending response by Israel. For the 91st number of Psalms reminds us of the presence of God. God provide shelter, protection and provisions for those who are caught in the midst of conflict . God I lament not to complain but with a faith that you can bring peace where him fails. I lament because you can turn anger and the need to respond into love and forgiveness. I Lament to you God because I believe you still have all power in your hand. Move in that part of the workd as only you can. Touch the mind and the hearts of leaders from around the world that they would seek after you and that no more innocent blood be shed of life taken. God, this world needs you like we have never needed you before. Like the Psalmist I lament “will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”

I join you in prayer early this day for the one God that sits high and looks low. To the everlasting mercy to extend across the mile to shelter those trapped with his mighty hand To God be the glory for hearing these prayers. Amen!!!
