Be Still and Know

Psalm 46:10-11

10 Be still, and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

Quickword: Be Still and Know

In the busyness of everyday life, we can often become overwhelmed. The hectic pace of going to work, school, picking up and dropping off children, answering emails, responding to text messages, sitting for hours on zoom and MS teams meetings. There are times when we need to be still in the presence of God. When we sit still ..,

- We come into knowing who God is.

- We become aware that that God is exalted among the nations and the earth.

- We become aware that the Lord is with us, the God of Jacob is our refuge

Long before I started this Quickword journey, I have attempted to find time everyday to spend time with God. It is in this time of stillness that we can commune with God. When we commune with Him, we become aware of who He is. The challenges of living in the world at times can become overwhelming. The ability to Be Still in the presence of God becomes reassuring. We are reassured that God is still God. We are reassured that He is still sovereign and has all power in His hand. We are assured that God is with us. Today, when life seems to get a little too much, take some time and Be Still in the presence of God. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
