Be Still and Know

Psalms 46:10-11

10 Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth!

11 The Lord of hosts is with us;

The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

Quickword: Be Still and Know

We are living in some very difficult times. The invasion of Russia into Ukraine has caused a refugee crisis which has displaced over 1.5 million persons. Israel’s response to the attack of Hamas has caused a humanitarian crisis in Gaza upon the least among us. The residual impacts of Covid -19 continues, the continued divide of the country based not on issues but political party affiliation and agendas, the senseless loss of life from gun violence, the impact of inflation on the economy, not to mention our own individual concerns, the question that comes to me this morning is simply, is there a word from the Lord? The word from the Lord is: Be Still and Know!

- Be Still and know that I am God

- Be Still and know that the Lord will be exalted among the nations and in the earth.

- Be Still and know that the Lord of Host is with us.

In spite of the turbulence we face individually and collectively, take comfort in knowing that the Lord of Hosts is with us. We can be still because the Lord of Host is self-sufficient! In other words, as the saints of old would say, He is God and God all by Himself. Today, no matter the situations or circumstances we face, take comfort in knowing that all we have to do is Be Still and know. God is still sovereign and He reigns over Heaven and Earth! Be Still and Know!
