I spent about a third of my military career in Asia. Due to the land mass being susceptible to Earthquakes, typhoons and tsunami's, most of their modern buildings are made to bend. Buildings are framed with steel which is stronger than iron because the properties that makeup the steel are flexible. The flexibility of the steel makes structures built with it stronger because when the storms come, the buildings are flexible and bend but they don't break. Today in this Quickword, I want to remind you who are of the household of faith what you are made of. You stand on the word of God, our faith structure allows us to bend but not break. You don't have to tell me, I know that the storm winds are blowing. Mass shootings are still present, political power is more important than faithfully serving people. The have continue to profit in excess off of the labor of the have nots. My beloved brother, my strong sister, bend but don't break. Keep your hearts and mind fixed on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. I am convinced without a shadow of doubt that we are going to make it. Weathering the storms of life are not easy, but if we remain committed to our faith and lean not to our own understanding, there will come a time in all of our lives when we will have to bend, but if we hold to God's unchanging hand, I promise you, we will not break.
