Do You Know His Voice?

John 10: 25-27

25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep,[e]as I said to you. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Quickword: Do you know His Voice?

In the 10th Chapter of John, Jesus enters into the temple at Solomon’s porch. Upon entering He is surrounded by those present who say to Him, in chapter 10, verse 24 “How long do You keep us in [d]doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” The text that we look at today Jesus responds to their questions .

- The works of Jesus speaks for Him and bear witness to who He is

- Those who don’t believe are not His sheep

- Those who follow Jesus hear His voice and follow Him.

My Brothers and Sisters, we are bombarded with so many voices that if we are not closely connected to Jesus, we don’t recognize His voice. The question posed today is Do you know His voice, the voice of Jesus? When was the last time you had an authentic encounter with the Lord that you heard his voice? When was the last time you spent quality time with Him. I’m not being critical of anyone, I’m simply writing from my own experiences know that if we don’t spend quality time with the Lord, his voice becomes just another voice. Yet, also from experience, I know when we connect with Jesus on an intimate level, we hear His voice, He knows us and as sheep we follow the Good Shepherd. I want to encourage you to find time and a place to just spend time with the Lord. I promise you the questions that you have and decisions that you need to make are better answered and made when you hear the voice of Jesus. Lastly, when we hear his voice, it’s because we are listening and not talking. There is a blessing in sitting still in His presence, knowing that you are hearing His voice. Do you know His voice?
