Don’t lose heart, God will not be mocked

Galatians 6:7-10

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Quickword: Don’t Lose heart, God will not be mocked.

Y’all, the senseless killings over the last two plus weeks in Buffal, NY and Uvalde, TX has tested my resolve, perhaps yours as well. This text in Romans has provided not relief but a reminder of the sovereignty of God.

- God will not be mocked

- Those who sow corruption will reap corruption, Those who sow to the Spirit will reap of the Spirit everlasting life.

- In the midst of tragedy, let us not grow weary in well doing!

I pray and believe that God will once again give us the strength to minister to those who are facing some of the most difficult days of their lives. The loss of a loved one under normal circumstances is hard enough; I can’t imagine the anguish that the families in Buffalo and Uvalde must be feeling. Let’s us as we have opportunity, do good to all, especially those of the household of faith. Let us not lose heart…God will not be mocked.

p.s. For those who contacted me about my temporary profile which lines through the words thoughts and prayers and replaced them with policy and change. By no means am I questioning the power of prayer. My statement or question to National and State Leaders who again are using this statement is what are your thoughts and what are you praying? Putting out this trope statement after each tragedy like Uvalde when policy and change needs to occur, hiding behind money and refusing to even acknowledge what we are witnessing is not a mental health issue or solely a mental health issue is not honest. I pray that leaders at all levels are seeking God’s wisdom and guidance and not mocking him with thoughts and prayers when action is required.
