God see us through

Joshua 1:8-9

8 The Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[c]shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Quickword: God Will Get Us Through

Recently while flying home, I was awaken by an announcement from the pilot of the flight. The pilot directed everyone to take their seats and to remain seated. He asked that the flight attendants also suspend thier food and beverage services and be seated. The pilot informed us that his flight information informed him that a major thunderstorm was ahead and that we would be experiencing some major turbulence. I deducted by his actions that there was no way to avoid the storm and that we would have to fly through it. At the end of his announcements, I repositioned myself in my seat and went back to sleep trusting that we would get through safely. After we landed, I understood the theocentric lesson from this flight. I was willing to trust a human pilot to navigate through a storm to the point that I just went back to sleep. I realize that in this journey called life we have a pilot that we can place our trust in completely. God is our pilot and when, not if, but when we find ourselves headed into a storm, in the midst of a storm, or even coming out of a storm we can trust God. The children of Israel were in a storm, Moses their leader had died. Joshua had been passed the reign of leadership and He and the people we encouraged by the word of God.

- We need through prayer and study of God’s word stay ready so we don’t have to get ready for the storms of life.

- All of us at some point in time will have to go through the challenges that life brings

- We have the word of the Lord and not only His word but the Lord is with us wherever we go.

My brothers and sisters, the storms are life will be with us. The storms are unavoidable and understand that they come to do great damage. The loss of a loved one, the illness that has caused the health in our bodies to decline. The end of a relationship or the portrayal by someone you love are just some examples of the storms that come. I encourage you like I did on yesterday on my flight, acknowledge the storms and then put your trust in the pilot of the universe. Romans 8:28 tells us “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Whatever you maybe facing today, trust that God will get us through.
