Good over Evil; Better or Worse

Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord requires of you, But to do justly, To love [d]mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Quickword: Good over Evil; Better or Worse

A few days ago I watched a interview featuring one of my favorite comedians Dave Chappelle. During the interview, Chappelle made an interesting observation about the morals or ethics of the country currently. He made the observation paraphrasing that we have moved from looking at things through the lenses of Good and Evil to looking at things between through the lenses of better or worse. In other words, our world has become so jaded that we will accept some behavior, political decisions, relationships, etc, not because they are Good, but because they are better than a worse options. We need to heed the word of the Lord found in prophet Micah, we need to return to looking and living life through the lenses of good and evil and not settle for better or worse.

  • God has shown us what is good.

  • There are requirements that the Lord has for us that leads to good toward humanity.

  • We are to do just, to love mercy and to walk humbly before the Lord.

As you go throughout your days, check and see how you are moving through life. Are you choosing good over evil or have we settled for just choosing better over worse.

Universal Health Care is good, the affordable health care is better than not having anything. No person should have a weapon that can kill persons in a matter of seconds; the gun regulation bill passed , it's simply better than nothing which is worse. Persons and families struggling to find affordable housing is on the scale of better or worse. Good is that God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son so that we may have life and life more abundantly. Let’s strive for Good over Evil, let’s not just settle for better over worse. Make a difference where you are….do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before the Lord.
