He Restores Our Souls

Psalms 23: 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Quickword: He Restores Our Souls

Earlier this week in our Quickword journey, we addressed rest for a weary soul. The soul is that spiritual aspect of humanity that is immortal; meaning it continues with us beyond this life. Here in the Shepherd‘s Psalms , David speaks of the rest of the soul. The challenges of life can make one’s soul tired and when this occurs, the soul needs rest. This kind of rest comes only from God. A rest that restores!

- God provides rest for our burden souls

- God leads us into a path of righteousness

- Our souls are cared for as a testimony of the namesake of God.

Our souls find rest in his name:

God is Jehovah-jireh—the Lord will provide.

God is Jehovah-shalom—the Lord is Peace.

God is El Elyon—He is your Sovereign.

God is El Roi—He sees you. God is Jehovah Nissi—He is my banner.

God is Jehovah Ro’i—He is your Shepherd.

My beloved brothers and sisters, take comfort in knowing that the Lord is our Shepherd and through Him, our souls are restored!
