Jeremiah 18:1-7
1 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.
5 Then the word of the Lord came to me. 6 He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.
Quickword: In the Potter's hands
During my hiatus from Quickword, I was intentional in spending time LISTENING to what God was saying through His word. One of the text that resonated with me is this passage from Jeremiah. There comes a time in all of our lives that we need to take a visit to the Potter's house. It is at the Potter's house that we recognized that God (the Potter) is constantly shaping and remolding you and I ((The Clay)
God is constantly working and reshaping us in His image
Often times the Potter has to reshaped us in His hands because we are marred in His hand (damaged, imperfect, spoiled, injured, flawed, broken, incomplete, deficient, smeared, degraded, blemished....)
The reshaping of us by the Potter can cause us to be under pressure, painful, conforming, bending...
My beloved brothers and sisters, if you find yourself on the Potter's wheel today, take comfort in knowing that the Lord can mold and shape us into something much better than we could possibly expect, in spite of the the situations and circumstances you maybe facing, please know that God has us in His hands , molding and shaping, transforming you and I, taking the marred and shaping us for His glory.
