Philippians 4:11-12

11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to [a]be abased, and I know how to [b]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

The Apostle Paul in his letter to the church at Philippi makes a statement that can surmised that all was well with his soul. I grateful to God that I have lived long enough now to have experiences the highs and lows of life. The highs of getting married, having a child and now grandchildren. I've experienced the lows of having to bury my Mother and Father and even over the last 4 years, two of my closest friends. I understand the sentiment Paul was relaying better now than at any point in my life.

I've learned to be content in my situations and circumstances:

I know how to be abased and abound…

I know how to function whether I'm full or hungry, to have enough and to also be in need…

My beloved brothers and sisters, It is well with my soul. When it is well with one's soul, you can make it when you are mistreated by those closest to you. When it is well with your soul, you have peace in the midst of the storms of life. When it is well with your soul , you know how to handle the mountaintop experiences as well as trips through the valley. I really have much more I could say but I simply want to encourage you today to get to the point in life that it is well with your soul. Regardless of whether i'm tired or rested, happy or sad, concerned or worry free, It is well with my soul.
