Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!

1st Peter 5: 6-7

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Quickword: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus

The weight of everyday life even on a good day can be challenging. Over the last several days, I observed a number of persons and families deal with some of the heaviest burdens to the carry. I've watched as families have had to lay to rest a husband, father, and sibling. Others have had to lay their mother to rest. Even as I write this post, my spirit weighs heavily as I know many of us are dealing with a myriad of issues. The words in 1st Peter offer us peace and comfort. You see as believers in Christ, we can go to the Lord in prayer. Peter tells us in this text that we are positioned to cast our cares upon the Lord.

We are called to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God

The Lord will exalt us in due time

We can cast our cares unto the Lord, for the Lord cares for us.

There are some days in which all I can do is call on the name of Jesus. Whether it's early in the morning or late in the afternoon; sometimes it's at the midnight hour and I just call His name. That's where I find myself this morning, I find myself on behalf of others and myself needing to call His name and to cast our cares upon Him. So this morning, I just call His name: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...., please hear our cries that come before you. God I ask that you heal, deliver, and comfort as only you can in the name of Jesus. Amen
