Keep Going

2nd Corinthians 11: 25-28

25 Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my owncountrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness— 28 besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.

Quickword: Keep Going

I cannot capture all that this text places before us in this space. To every person that works to advance the Kingdom of God, I urge you today to just keep going. In these few verses lifted from 2nd Corinthians, Paul details some of the sufferings he endured as an ambassador for Christ. I don't know who you are today but I know the burden of ministry is great and you want to give up; you don't want to Pastor any longer , you no longer want to preach or teach; you know longer have the energy to feed the hungry or visit the sick. My beloved brothers and sisters, keep going. Paul detailed some of the sufferings He faced during his ministry...

  • Three times he was beaten, once stoned

  • Three times he was shipwrecked, a day and night in the deep

  • In danger in the presence of friends and foe

  • Suffered serving through hunger, thirst, in cold and nakedness

Paul while not boasting of his own accord shares how he suffered as a servant of Christ. Again, it’s my belief that many of us, some In ordained ministry, others in lay ministry find ourselves overwhelmed by the struggle of ministry. Keep going, Keep going, Keep going! God knows where we are and what we are going through. Paul would go on in chapter 12 of 2nd Corinthians to tell us in vs 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. I'm praying for you as you pray for me that we will keep going in the power of Christ Jesus.
