Kingdom Building

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

1st Corinthians 3:5-8

5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

Quickword: Kingdom Building

I am a huge football fan; there is nothing like watching my team win a game where the win was only possible because the team pulled together. I'm grateful to be part of a fantastic ministry team at the Antioch Church in San Antonio, but I'm even more grateful for being a part of the Universal Church. You see all of us are on assignment and play a key role in winning souls for the kingdom. Whether you serve as Pastor, Deacon, Music Director, Church School Teacher, Usher, Evangelism and Discipleship ministry, etc, we are all part of the team. The Apostle Paul reminds us in this text that we are all workers in the Kingdom of God but also to remember that it's not the one that plants or waters but God who gives the increase. We who serve are part of the team and we are one.

  • One man waters, one man plants but it is God who gets the increase.

  • No one role is more important than the other, carry out the assignment God has called you to complete

  • Each person will be awarded according to their own labor

I want to simply encourage every person who is working to advance the Kingdom of God. To those who plant and those who water, to those who labor in anonymity, know that God sees your efforts and knows your heart. Keep planting and watering, the impact you have by introducing someone to Jesus and helping them grow is not measurable. It's all about Kingdom building and God will get the increase.
