Ministry When It’s Inconvenient!

Matthew 15: 29-31

29 Jesus departed from there, skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there. 30 Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, [d]maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them. 31 So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the [e]maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

Quickword: Ministering When its inconvenient

Good Morning all, I ran across the below blog from Erin Davis that put the concept of ministering when it's inconvenient in perspective.

In Matthew 15:29, we find Jesus trying to rest on a mountainside. He barely sat down when a crowd of people came to Him looking to be healed. How did He respond? He healed them.

When Jesus received word that His cousin, John the Baptist, had been killed, He tried to grieve alone. But crowds of people followed Him and begged for His attention. Scripture tells us that instead of hiding in His grief, He had compassion and healed the sick in the crowd (Matthew 14:13–14).

On the night before Jesus was betrayed, He didn't hide out. He didn't run away. He spent the evening with His disciples. He even took the time to serve them by washing the mud from their feet (John 13:1–17).

My brothers and sisters, Jesus Ministry was a ministry of inconvenience. He left the glory of heaven, allowed himself to be wrapped in human flesh and lived among us. Jesus' earthly ministry was one of inconvenience when he ministered to persons who rejected his message of redemption and salvation. The Baptist preacher just kicked in, Jesus ministry was one of inconvenience when he died one Friday for you and me. His Ministry was one of inconvenience when he laid in a borrowed tomb, Friday night and all day and all night Saturday. His inconvenience became our invitation to inclusion in Kingdom work, when he got up with all all power in hand early on Sunday morning. Thank God for the privilege of serving one another in the name of Jesus, especially when it's inconvenient as we emulate the work of our Lord and Savior. You may encounter ministering when it's not convenient, during those times let us remember the Ministry of our Savior.
