John 5:8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
Quick Word: No More Excuses
In the Gospel of John, we find the narrative of a certain man who had been unable to walk laying on the pool at Bethsaida. Every year, an angel of the Lord came to the pool and stirred the water and whoever got into the pool first was made well. One day, Jesus was there on the Sabbath day and asked the man, “Do you want to be made whole“? Instead of answering the question, the man began to make excuses. I don’t have anyone to put me in the pool when the angel stirs the water, someone else gets in the pool first before I can get there. He made excuses when the solution to his situation was speaking.
- Trouble has caused many of us to become stagnate, impotent, just laying at the pool with only excuses…
- Often we stay in our conditions because it becomes comfortable …
- In order to move forward, we need to hear a word from the Lord and take action…
Jesus said to the man, who had been in his condition for 38 years to Rise, Take up his bed and Walk. The Quick Word on this Sabbath day from the Lord to you and I is the Lord knows the conditions that we’re in. Rise, take up your bed and walk. No more Excuses! My Brothers and My Sisters, I know what I’m asking you to do is not easy; but the Good News is that we don’t have to do it alone. I promise you, if we trust Jesus, He will be with us every step of the way. I hear him speaking, Rise, Take up your Bed and Walk- No more excuses.
