2nd Timothy 1:12
12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

In the book of 2nd Timothy, we find the sage Apostle Paul sharing words of encouragement to his son in the ministry Timothy. Paul is encouraging Timothy to not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul at the time is in prision as a result of his teachings of Jesus Christ. He recognizes that what he is going through could potentially be discouraging to those whom he has mentored. One of the fallacies that is often taught or misrepresented is that ministry is glamorous. For those who walk this walk of faith to share the Gospel if honest will share that the real work of ministry is far from glamorous. Paul encouraged Timothy to not be ashamed of the work of spreading the Gospel and the suffering that comes with it!

The challenge of ministry can take its toll upon you mentally, physically and emotionally. I’m grateful this week for a time of rest , refocusing and renewal. The God whom we serve is able to keep us no matter the consequences that come from serving Him. The sufferings of this present world cannot compare with the glory that shall be revealed in us. Never be ashamed of the Gospel!
