1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed from the challenges of life. The challenges that come from the loss of a love one, the loss of a job, the end of a long term relationship or a major health crisis. There are a great number of things that can lead to us being overwhelmed. The text does not specifically point out the challenge that the writer of the Psalm is facing, yet the writer gives us guidance to where to look for our help. He declared I look to the hills from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, who made the heaven and earth. Beloved it, no matter what we are facing, we can look to the hills, our help comes from the Lord. I’m looking for a witness this morning who can testify of a time when you had to look to the hills, a time when only the Lord could heal, protect , provide and deliver you. Today, the Lord is still available, keep looking to the hills, our help comes from the Lord.
Let’s pray. Dear God in Heaven, there are so many who are facing challenges that only you can handle. God we come this morning looking to the hills believing that our help comes from you alone. For you created the heavens and the earth. This morning we come laying all of our concerns at your feet knowing that you can handle anything. God we come knowing that if you don’t answer our prayers that you are still able. Now Lord we ask for your grace and your mercy, forgive us of our sins, we know that our help comes from you. This is our prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen
