Psalms 46 God is our refuge and strength,A[a] very present help in trouble.
Quickword: Our Refuge and Strength
Psalms 46 is a text in which we can take comfort in knowing that we are blessed because of the promise of an all powerful, ever present , and all knowing God. The text simply reminds us that God is, God can be counted on. I have been blessed over the years to have some people in my lives who were just there. What made these persons special to me is that no matter the situation or circumstance, I could count in them during the good times and the not so good times. Some of these people like my parents and a couple of good friends are no longer here as they now rest with the Lord. I am blessed that when trouble comes, God is my refuge and my strength, a very present help in the time of trouble. I know for certain, I’m not the only one that faces the challenges of life and I’m certain that I can find one or two witnesses today who will be a witness today that God is.
God is our refuge, our place of safety and shelter when trouble is present.
God is our strength, His presence allows us to withstand the pressures and forces of this world.
God is a very present help in the time of trouble. God is present.
My brothers and my sisters, I’m grateful for the message of Psalms 46. I find myself on occasion just needing refuge and strength in my times of trouble. We are blessed because we serve a God who doesn’t take a day off. We serve a God who never sleeps nor slumbers. We serve a God who is ever present. Today in this Quickword, I’m encouraged and hope you are as well knowing that we can take comfort in our times of troubles because God is our refuge and strength. God is our refuge and strength when we are sick, God is our refuge and strength during our times of loss. God is our refuge and strength when the relationship is strained. God is our refuge and strength when our resources are limited. God is our refuge and strength when the enemy seems to be winning. God is our refuge of strength when it seems as if all hope is gone. God is our refuge and strength. We can call on Him, He is a very present help in the time of trouble.
