Our Works Follow Us

Revelation 14:13

13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Quickword: Our Works Follow Us

Yesterday the news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth spread throughout the world. Her seven decades as the Queen of the United Kindgom is unparalleled in modern history. Also on yesterday, a renowned journalist and one of the first anchormen for CNN Bernard Shaw past away. I remember Mr. Shaw anchoring the CNN news the night the first Gulf started. Both of these persons impacted the world in their own way and their legacies speak for themselves. In the book of Revelation, chapter 14:13, John the revelator relays to us that the works of those who die in the Lord, their works follow them. There are unknown others who transitioned from this life to life eternal on yesterday and likewise their works will follow.

  • Blessed are those who die in the Lord

  • Those who die in the Lord find eternal rest

  • Those who die in the Lord, their works will follow

My brothers and Sisters, we pray for the family of the beloved Queen of England, we pray for the family of Mr. Shaw and the countless others who now find rest beyond an earthly existence. The reality of life is that each of us will transition from this life and our works too shall follow us. Let us make every effort while we have opportunity to live our lives so that when our time comes to depart, this life, our works that follow us will be pleasing unto God.
