Reconciled Through Christ!

Updated: Dec 27, 2021

Romans 5:10-11

10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Quickword: Reconciled Through Christ!

This morning many of us learned that Archbishop Desmond Tutu transitioned from this life to life eternal. Bishop Tutu was known throughout the world for his ministry of reconciliation. One of the leading voices against apartheid in South Africa, he would serve as the Chair of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission which would address the human rights violations of the apartheid years. This text in Romans 5 informs us of God work of reconciliation done through the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

- We were once enemies with the Divine and needed reconciliation because of our sins.

- We have been reconciled to God through the death of His son whom He sent so that we might be saved.

- We rejoice in God for the atonement of our sins through Jesus Christ whose death and resurrection reconciles sinful humanity unto our Divine Creator.

How truly blessed we are by the work of reconciliation done through Jesus Christ that all of us upon accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior can be reconciled unto God. We honor the life and legacy of Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu today and I pray that we are convicted to use every available means to reconcile with one another regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, economic status, gender and orientation. We have been created in the very image of God who loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son as a sacrifice that we might be reconciled unto him. Life is fragile, is there a relationship in your life that needs to be reconciled today? Perhaps you may have strayed away from God, today my brother and my sister, God is waiting on you with outstretched arms of Love to welcome you into His presence. The path to reconciliation has been paved through the broken body and shed blood of Jesus.
