Remain Faithful

Matthew 24:6-8

6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for[a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines,[b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Unfortunately the war waged by Russia against Ukraine has entered into its third year. In addition the death and devastation caused by conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is overwhelming. The vast majority of us have not seen or experienced personally this kind of destruction before. This text reminds us that when we see these things to not be troubled.

- There will be wars and rumors of wars…

- Nations will rise against nations

- There will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places.

- This is just the beginning of sorrows.

My brothers and sisters, we are seeing the word playing out in real time. Let’s not allow the current situations to cause us to be troubled. God is still sovereign and reins supreme. No matter what we will encounter in the near future, let’s us remain faithful unto the power and presence of God! God will see us through.

Dear God in Heaven I come before your throne of grace just acknowledge your sovereignty. Even in the midst of war and conflict around the world, the ongoing political chaos in America, as believers in Christ, we take comfort in knowing that you are God. God we asked that you strengthen and steady us during these turbulent times that we remain faithful knowing who you are and whose we are. God watch over us, keep us and help us to remain faithful no matter what comes our way. We know that you have all power in your hand and you are worthy to be praised. This is thy servants prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen!
