Phillipians 3: 12-14
12 Not that I have already attained,[c] or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have [d]apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Quickword: Reset, Prioritize and Focus
During my time away, I found the Spirit of the Lord encouraging me to reset. This reset calls for an examination of all aspects of my life; ministry, civilian career, personal relationships, etc…. On occasion, I think it’s important to reset and evaluate where we are and what we are doing. Once the reset occurs then we can prioritize our next steps in the process. Lastly, we we reset and prioritize then we must remain focus on the goal. Paul’s letter to the Church at Phillips offer us some valuable insights in resetting, prioritizing and focusing:
- Most of us are not where we want to be or thought we would be in areas of our lives
- We are reminded to keep pressing toward what God has called us to be
- We can forget those things which are behind us and pressed toward the call of God in Christ Jesus.
My beloved brothers and sisters, if you find yourself a little stagnant, the Good News is that we have the opportunity to reset, prioritize and focus on what God has called us to do. The good news is that why we are focused on what lies before us; the Lord is focused on us and will see us through.
