Rise Up And Walk

Acts 3:6-8 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

Quickword: Rise up and Walk

As Peter and John made their way to the temple to pray, they encounter a man who was born lame. This man was taken daily to the temple gates where he would ask for alms from persons entering the temple. As Peter and John came near the temple gate, Peter fixed his eyes on the lame man and said Silver and Gold I do not have, but what I do have in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. Helping the man up, the man gain strength in his body, the man then entered the temple with Peter and John praising the Lord.

- There are many among us who need help and stand in need of healing

- What we lack in material wealth is overcome by our faith in Jesus

- The blessings comes when we are moved from the ordinary to the extraordinary as a result of an authentic encounter with the power of Jesus.

This man came to the gate looking for daily assistance but received a healing that changed his life. Many of us are dealing with the daily challenges to care for our families, friends, communities and even ourselves. The word today is to rise up and walk in the name of Jesus. I know this sounds over simple or pie in the sky. Hear me clearly, I recognize the real challenges that we face. There are real needs financially, physically and emotionally. Yet, I still believe their is power in the name of Jesus. Silver & gold I do not have, but in the name of Jesus my brothers and sisters, let‘s rise up and walk. In the name of Jesus, where we are weak, He has the power to strengthen us. When the man received his strength, he praised God. Rise up and walk and give God the praise. Praise Him for what He has done, praise him for what He is doing, and praise Him for what He will do. Rise up in the name of Jesus!
