Stand in the Solid Rock

Revelation 6 :7-8

7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”

8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

The Quickword today continues our look at the revelation given to John while he was exiled to isle of Patmos. We know that what was revealed to John are events to take place in the future. John provides vivid detail of what was before him. When the 4th seal was opened, John pens that he saw a pale horse whose rider was death with hades following.

- The pale horse brought death followed by hades, the place where the dead will abide for a period of time.

- Death and hades were given over a fourth of the earth to be killed by sword, famine, plagues and wild beasts.

- We have been given the revelation of what is to come, we should not be caught unprepared.

My beloved brothers and sisters, there will be trials and tribulations that all of us will encounter as we sojourn here on earth. The manner in which we respond to these periods of turmoil speaks to our relationship with the one who is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I’m determined come hell or high-water to stand on the solid rock which is Jesus Christ. I’m praying for you as I know you are praying for me.
