Stay Focused

Hebrews 12:1-2

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Have you ever been distracted. This morning, I got up even earlier than I north do to get somethings done prior to starting my day. While I sat at my computer trying to finish some work I was distracted. Incoming emails and unread text messages; sport news and the television in the background all became distractions to what I needed to get accomplished. Being distracted is one of the devices that Satan uses to kill, steal and destroy the work and ministry of every believer. Perhaps this Quickword is just for me but I'm determined to stay focus. The writer of Hebrews gives us a blueprint on how we stay focused. The writer reminds us to:

• Look unto Jesus the author of our faith

• Look unto Jesus the finisher of our faith.

• Look unto Jesus who gives us the ultimate example of staying focus in spite of what we go through.

My brothers and sisters, I pray that you are staying focus on what is truly important. I pray that you are focused on your personal relationship with the Savior. I hope you are focused on your family and friends, those persons in whom you are invested in and likewise they are invested in yours. Life is precious, time is fleeting, stay focused on those things that matter and not temporal. We've got this as long as we look and Jesus and allow our time to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Stay focused!
