Straight, No Chaser!

2nd Timothy 3:1-5

1 But know this, that in the last days [a]perilous times will come:

2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 unloving, [b]unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,

4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Quickword: Straight, No Chaser!

Paul’s words to his protege Timothy is straightforward. There is no commentary required. Paul makes no attempt to sweeten the harsh reality of the day with soft words, he delivers these words unto Timothy to prepare him for the realities that he will face as he carries out his ministry.

- Understand the days we are current living in are dangerous days…

- The actions of humanity and the will of the Divine are more divided as ever…

- There is a call to turn away from those who have a form of godliness but no power, yet a need to reach those who have not accepted Christ...

There is a line between being direct snd disrespectful. The word of God rightly divided provides guidance , wisdom, encouragement and correction. The word of God can stand alone, it is not required to be tone down, Straigth no chaser! Likewise, the redeeming message of the Love of God for all humanity must also be presented and shared without any hesitancy. We must be willing to passionately share the Grace of God, the Love of Jesus and the joy of Communion of the Holy Spirit to all whom we come into contact with. All of us know someone who needs to be saved, I encourage you today to make the introduction to Jesus Christ and He will do the rest, it just might require you to be honest and transparent about your story, nothing is more of a turnoff than the believer who carries themselves as if they just dropped out of Heaven and have never falling short. There is an evangelistic catch phrase, each one get one; who is your one?
