1st Corinthians 3:11-13
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
Quickword: The Testing of our Ministry!
As a undergraduate years ago, i studied political science. I was and to a certain degree still interested in how government at all levels in partnership with public and private sector are designed to work in concept for the betterment of society. I realize in the over partisan environment that we live in that getting anything done especially to benefit the least among us is almost impossible.
Here in the 3rd Chapter of 1st Corinthians, the Apostle Paul challenges the church to move beyond the carnal into a service of spiritual maturity, I must confess that after 30 plus years of working in government, I don’t have much faith in its efforts. I continue to work my land because my faith is built on the foundation that has been laid by Jesus Christ. I know I’m not alone in that each day I find myself going through the fires of life that test my works.
- Build your works on the foundation laid by Jesus Christ.
- The work that is purposed for us will become clear.
- Our works will be tested by the fire and the manner in which we come through will be revealed.
My Brothers and Sisters I encourage each and everyone of you to continue to build your ministry on the foundations laid by Jesus Christ. Our ministry will be tested and each of us will be rewarded on that day based on our Faith and works.
