The Gift Of Ministry

Ephesians 4:11-13

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [a]edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Quickword: The Gift of Ministry

As we come to the end of clergy appreciation month, I'm grateful to God for the honor to serve. I've been blessed to minister and serve in Churches and Chapels for nearly 29 Years from Macon Ga, Clarksville Tn, Richmond Virginia, Sagamihara Japan, Atlanta Georgia, Seoul Korea, Dumfries Va, Vienna VA and for the last 12 years at the Antioch Baptist Church in San Antonio Texas. Under the leadership of our Pastor and First Lady, members of our congregation have blessed the Ministers of Antioch all month long, culminating today with a reception after Morning worship. Rev. Mignon and I paused to say to Pastor and Lady Kemp, and the Antioch Church thank you. We are blessed to serve at this branch of Zion. We want to say thank you to the members of Antioch for every gift, card, email, text, and act of kindness shown to us not only this month but for everything you do. To those ministers whom we serve along side, I pray that God continues to bless you and your ministies beyond measure. It is a blessing to be given the gift to serve in ministry.

  • God gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers;

  • The purpose of ministry is for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ

  • The work can become overwhelming at times; I simply encourage each one of you who labor to remain faithful to the ministry we have been called.

I pray that at some point during the month, a leader, member or friend has said thank you for your ministry. Yet this morning, if no one has said a thing, please know that God knows and you will receive your reward in due season. Happy Clergy Appreciation.
