Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
Quickword: The Grace of God
This week, a colleague of mine shared a gut-wrenching story out of Maryland. A man is shown on social media confessing to shooting and killing the mother of his child who according to his statement was threatened not to letting him see the child. He further states this was the same thing that occurred to him previously and he then goes to the home of what I understand is his ex-wife house as the recording goes off and kills her and then himself. The tragedy in this story beyond the murder-suicide is that the children involve have lost both of there parents. I don’t know if any of the persons involved had a relationship with Jesus, yet reading and watching led me to thinking about the Grace of God! Grace is the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings. It is by the Grace of God that we are saved.
- All of us have sinned and are redeemed by the Grace of God through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
- The depth of God‘s Grace is incomprehensible to the human understanding.
- The Grace of God fully demonstrated by the shed blood and broken body of Jesus Christ.
I was compel to share the earlier story to demonstrate the Grace of God. I don’t where this man will spend eternity, I just know that God’s Grace can reach people, situations and circumstances that in our humanity cannot be understood. God’s Grace is unthinkable, incredible, even inconceivable. When I think about God’s Grace in my own life, His favor, His blessings upon me that I don’t deserve, I’m overwhelmed when I think of the Grace that God extends to us daily. Thank God for His Grace! He is worthy to be praised!
