The People of God

1st Peter 2:9

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

Quickword: The People of God

In this brief Quickword, I just want to remind you who you are: Beloved you are a chosen generation, a holy nation, God’s own special people. You are people who praise God because He has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. We are people who at one time were not a people who have obtained the mercy of God and are His people. There was a time when were held captive by our sins, yet even then God kept us by His grace and we have obtained His mercy; simply stated God withheld the punishment that we deserve for our sins, we were in darkness but now He has called us into His marvelous light. It is in His light that we find joy, hope, peace , purpose , passion and patience. Beloved it, we are a chosen generation who have been called to share with others the good news of Jesus Christ.

Let’s Pray: Dear God in heaven, we come before your throne of Grace thanking you for continually looking beyond our faults and seeing our every need. Father God we thank you for what you have done in our lives. We thank you for being a God of amazing grace and enduring mercy. God, even now we pray for our enemies, those who would do us harm. God we pray for America and her leaders. God we pray for Pastors and religious leaders whom you have called for a time like this. God you have been good to us and we thank you for who you are. God continue to guide our steps as you did the children of Isreal a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. God pour out your Spirit upon us that others might see your good works and cry out unto you, what must I do to be saved? God again thank you for chosen us, thank you for your grace and mercy. Forgive us of our sins in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
