Last evening many of us were sadden to hear of the death of two legends in their respective fields and in life in the passing of Basketball Great William (Bill ) Russell and actress Nichelle Nichols best known to many of us as LT. Uhura of Star Trek. I read and listen to statements on both of their lives. Today and in the days and weeks to come, we celebrate and honor their lives as they have transitioned from this life to life eternal. Scripture teaches us :
Those who die in the Lord are blessed.
There is rest beyond this present world
Their works and impacts on the works will follow them
We honor the life and legacy of these two giants and the positive examples they were to all of us, especially the African American community. Our prayers are with their families and friends. Rest In Peace, Rest in Power.
