Psalms 40:1-3
1 I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.
Quickword: Wait on the Lord
Have you ever had an issue or concern and all you could do was to call on the Lord and wait. I’ve learned how to wait on the Lord as a result of the trails of life. Even as I pen this brief post I find myself waiting on the Lord to answer my prayers. The 40th number of Psalms reminds us that not only does the Lord hear our prayers he takes action. The Psalmist tells us that the Lord pick him up out of the pit and place him on solid ground. The Psalmist tells us that the Lord put a song in our mouth, a hymn of praise unto God. When(not if) God moves out test becomes a witness to others who are going through. This morning, my brother, my sister, whatever situations or circumstances you are facing, wait patiently on the Lord with a praise in your mouth because the Lord knows.
Let’s pray: Dear God in Heaven, I come before you this morning knowing that you know the challenges that each of us face even now. God we come not complaining but crying out to you knowing that you still hear and answer prayers. God we know you are a healer, a deliverer, a way maker, and our shelter in times of a storm. God we are going to wait patiently on you to move on our behalf, yet while we wait we are going to praise you in advance. God we come knowing even if you don’t move the obstacles in our lives that you will give us the strength to go through. God I pray for every person who will engage this post, give them the patience to wait and the spirit to worship while waiting; this is thy servants prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen
