James 1:2-4
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Quickword: Waiting On The Lord!
It is an understatement to say we are facing a number of trials. Even as I write this, my heart is heavy as news of attacks against Ukraine to include the bombing of a women’s and children’s hospital is being reported. The rising cost of not only fuel but other necessary commodities that are used daily are straining family budgets. I know just as a matter of the realities of life many of us are facing our own personal trials, sickness, the death of loved ones, strained finances and fractured relationships….James, the half-brother of Jesus gives us hope as we face various trials. James encouraged us to:
-Count it all joy when we fall into various trials
- These trails test our faith which produces patience
- Let patience have it’s perfect work that we maybe complete
As a results of the events unfolding around the world both far and near, in this space over the last two weeks, I’ve been expressing my belief that our faith will get us through this current time. It may seem contrary to logic but the more we face, I feel we are being drawn closer to God. Our faith becomes the currency that provides us hope when the trials of life seem hopeless. We must remain faithful and patient. When God moves, he will bring about perfect peace, we just have to wait on the Lord!
