Matthew 25: 31-36

31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.

32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.

33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father,inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;I was a stranger and you took Me in;

36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

This past Friday I watched an interview that highlighted the a family in Romania that since the attack on Ukraine have opened their home to those who have fled their country and need assistance. This particular family had hosted up to 60 persons in their home providing the basic needs of life; food, water, shelter, hygiene and laundry facilities. This kind of service lead me to this text in Matthew. When the Son of Man comes, He will separate the sheep(righteous) from the goats (unrighteous) , the sheep on the right side and the goats on the left side. Their positions will be determined by their service to one another.

- Blessed are the sheep who will be placed on the right side

- The righteous will inherit the kingdom of God

- The righteous represent the kingdom of God

When the Son of Man comes, where will you be assigned? Are you a Sheep or a goat; our actions towards those in need will determine our place.
