Where is the Love?

Updated: Sep 26, 2021

1st John 3:16-17

16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

Quickword: Where is the Love?

In my short time of publishing the quick word daily , I’ve tried to always find the good news in the text. This morning with video and pictures of law enforcement on horses with reigns corralling Haitians who crossed the U.S. border shook me to my core. The number of missing men and women primarily of color with no national outcry leads me to ask where is the love? The division over the ways to deal with a deadly virus and personal freedoms is incomprehensible to me. Where is the Love? The question in this Quickword is directed not to the world but to those of us who called ourselves Christians. Where is the Love?

We know Love, it is exemplified in the death of Jesus on Calvary’s Cross for you and I. Yet today, Christians remain silent in the face of reprehensible treatment of humanity. Where is the Love? Where is our willingness to lay down our lives for those who can’t fend for themselves. As a nation, we have been tremendously blessed but that wealth has been contained among the haves to the detriment of the least among us. Where is the Love? When we see men, women and children in real need, and our hearts are shut. Love flows from heart and out of our hearts action takes place! Where is the Love?

-Jesus gave His life for us while we were yet sinners…

- We confess our beliefs in a risen Savior and call ourselves Christians, even a Christian nation…

- We who call ourselves Christians are not living up to what we have been called to do…

Where is the Love?

Either we Change our Name or Change our Behavior.
